Captain Paula Brandmeier spent over forty years as a pilot, guiding flight crews through difficult situations and serving our country as an Aircraft Commander in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

She knows what it takes to lead.

As our Supervisor, Paula will stand for our community’s values, not divisive partisan positions. She has the experience and confidence to speak up for us.

Paula

For over 25 years, District 20 in northeast Dane County has provided me and my family with many wonderful opportunities. Now, after 40 years as a Captain for United Airlines and a Commander in the United States Air Force, I am ready to take flight once again to bring my leadership and experiences to the Dane County Board.

Before I started my career, I graduated college with a degree in Computer Science and obtained a commercial pilot’s license. After a year as a software engineer, I realized I felt more at home in the sky than at a desk, so I joined the United States  Air Force through the Air Force Reserves where I flew C141 cargo planes all over the world.

I’ve always tried to give my time to my community. I’ve been a Token Creek Conservancy board member for over 16 years, volunteer water tester for the Rock River Coalition, election worker, and volunteer at the McKenzie Center, Meals on Wheels, and at our schools. I enjoy gardening, traveling the world, scuba, cooking, skiing, and yoga.

I am running for Dane County Board because I have seen how local decisions can have real, effective impact on our everyday lives. I am focused on the county budget, protecting our natural resources and helping the county strategically grow. Our government and our taxes should work to enhance our communities, help the most vulnerable, preserve and protect our natural resources, and help make Dane County a place of opportunities so that the next generation will want to stay and make Wisconsin their home.

“Retired Captain Paula Brandmeier is committed to protecting our natural resources, our farmlands and wants to address the everyday concerns of our communities. I am proud to endorse her candidacy for Dane County Board Supervisor.”

- Congressman Mark Pocan

“Paula and her family have lived in our neighborhood for over 25 years. We have gotten to know her as a friend, an upstanding citizen, a loving mother, and military and civilian commercial pilot. She has a wonderful environmental ethic that is shown in her volunteer work, she would be a great representative for our district on the Dane County Board”
